According to me cooking is an equal-opportunity talent and I find that anybody can cook. It is not limited by the age, profession, caste, colour or creed of a person. What is needed is the love for cooking. For me the passion for cooking does not stop in the kitchen, when I travel, I continue to be inspired by eating in some of the best restaurants around the world.

Shaan, I am trying the recipe now. But I think we can avoid egg, instead of egg can we use some maida?

Afeela, Sure, you can replace egg by few table spoons of water. No issue in adding maida. Thanks for the comment 🙂

Which oil is used for cooking? Is there any problem in using coconut oil?

Vini, Usually Chinese dishes are prepared in Peanut oil. It is not mandatory, you can use any vegetable oil for preparing this dish.

Your way of presentation is simple and easy for any beginner. thanku sir

Hello.. I tried this recipe and the taste is good. But I was disappointed while seeing my dish. It doesn’t look same as the photo with this recipe. Any way thanks for sharing.

Nandu, Thanks for the feedback. I followed the same method while preparing chilli chicken for taking photographs. There may be a slight colour variation based on the lighting arrangements. Actually the original colour is a little darker than the photographs. Also make sure that you are using Red chilli sauce. (Usually the chilli chicken that you will get in restaurants will be reddish as they are adding food colours.)

Simply described menu, one language mistake.”taste for salt”- rather salt for taste. Wonderful dish as good as you will get in real Chinese restaurant, with Indian flavour. Congrats and best of luck in both avenues, engineering and cookery.

Hey Shaan, I have one request. I live in the states do you think you can include the measurements in both metric and otherwise so I don’t always have to convert it. That would save a lot of time.

Juby, I will try to include both metric in the next website renovation.

Anupama, Unfortunately cornflour and soya sauce are the mandatory ingredients for Chilli Chicken 🙂 I don’t believe that cornflour is unhealthy. Anyway having a chilli chicken once in a while is not so dangerous Anupama 🙂 Have fun in the kitchen.
